It includes two Net-960E units, a swipe card reader (or Dallas ID button reader), a set of software tools, and an interface unit for connecting the MDT to a PC during the development stage. The application developer may use the demo program, provided in source code, as a starting point in coding the application. A basic messaging application program is provided in source code. This program demonstrates the use of the utility library routines, as well as providing some re-usable routines for handling common functions such as time-outs. The code of the demo program provides a general framework for a program handling the user interface as a foreground task while communications and other tasks (such as printing) are handled as background tasks. The software tools are now available in C.
